Core Beliefs

  • It is our mission to ensure the delivery of school health services that strengthen and facilitate the educational process by improving and protecting the health status of children and staff. In compliance with the New Jersey Statutes Annotated (N.J.S.A. 18A), the New Jersey State Administrative Code (N.J.A.C. 6A), and the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (Chapter 14) Sanitary Code, which define our responsibilities, our nursing mission remains to advocate for student health needs.

To accomplish this mission, the school nurse draws upon knowledge from medical, educational and psychosocial disciplines. It is our desire to guide all students in discovering; valuing and developing their unique talents in order to realize their educational goals, and embark on a healthy, productive life. It is the school nurse who provides the physical as well as the emotional support for children with medical needs to attend school daily.
