SEL: Self Care
-
Hello December!
December represents both endings and beginnings. As the year draws to a close, we naturally find ourselves looking inward, assessing our achievements, and contemplating our future path. Are you happy in your present? Is there something you can change? December allows time for renewal and reflection, allowing us to leave spaces that no longer serve us while discovering or cultivating those which lead us to calm and peace. December can also present difficulties for many as it's the time when seasonal depression starts kicking in. We can combat these by practicing self-care and gratitude!
Engaging in a self-care routine has been clinically proven to reduce or eliminate anxiety and depression, reduce stress, improve concentration, minimize frustration and anger, increase happiness, improve energy, and more. It is important for us to stop, take a breath, and remember that we must take care of ourselves if we want to continue to help others. The Self-Care Calendar is meant to provide ideas and affirmations for those who need that little extra reminder to show a little love for themselves each day.
