The bar has been raised on what is required for student success in colleges and careers in the 21st Century. The Department of College and Career Readiness provides rigorous academic and career curriculum that will allow the development of problem solving, critical thinking, as well as essential workplace skills such as innovation, collaboration and teamwork. Through our career-themed courses and programs, academic excellence will be fostered, which will enable students to explore, compete, and excel in post-secondary education and/or career endeavors.
Paterson’s high schools are now all schools of choice.
In addition, a variety of Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are available, in which students take a comprehensive sequence of career-themed courses, which can lead to an industry-recognized certification or credential. Throughout the district, students can be introduced to an array of thematic academic programs, including:
