Welcome to Multilingual Learners

Paterson Public Schools is home to over 7,000 Multilingual Learners, representing more than 30 languages and cultures. Our district is dedicated to meeting the needs of this diverse and growing population by offering rigorous Bilingual, ESL, Dual Language, and World Languages programs. Research supports our approach of providing instruction in students' first languages to facilitate their mastery of English and other subjects. At the core of our efforts is the belief that every child matters, and we are committed to creating language programs and services that promote the success of all our students.
