About Us

Silk City 2000 Academy is an alternative high school program designed to meet the needs of students who thrive in small class settings. Our program provides an opportunity for Paterson students to complete their high school education in a supportive environment.

The focus of instruction is to have students develop a life-long learning orientation as well as the ability to demonstrate solid written and oral communication skills, to solve problems and think critically, and to use electronic technologies proficiently. The faculty provides individualized instruction, guided by students' personalized program plans.

The program engages students with a thematic, hands-on learning experience that focuses on computer technology, workplace readiness, and career exploration.

In addition to helping students complete all high school graduation requirements, our program also includes a community service component as part of the curriculum.
