For generations, St. Joseph's Hospital has provided exceptional health care, support and social services to the residents of Paterson and surrounding areas. Growing from a 12 bed facility to a 792 bed medical center, St. Joseph's has now expanded to additional locations including Passaic, Essex, Bergen and Hudson counties.

Founded in 1867, St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center helped care for Paterson's many laborers during the early industrial era. The Sisters of Charity maintained and financed the facility by working within the community.
