Welcome to ROSA PARKS!
IN 1986, ROSA L. PARKS SCHOOL OF FINE & PERFORMING ARTS BECAME ONE OF ONLY FEW PUBLIC ARTS HIGH SCHOOLs IN THE NEW YORK METROPOLITAN AREA. OPERATING IN A STATE-run DISTRICT, THE SCHOOL IN A SHORT TIME, HAS MADE ITS MARK IN THE EDUCATIONAL ARENA.
The school is devoted to furthering the special talents of its students by providing training in each of eight arts majors: Commercial Art, Fine Art, Dance, Drama, Vocal Music,Instrumental Music, Piano and Communication Arts.
This specialized program of instruction assures that our students will cultivate and develop their talents, along with their intelletct, through the challege of a college preparatory academic curriculum that supplements an intensive arts program.

Students in the vocal music program were specially selected to perform in the inaugural performance season for the Empire State Building. The trip included a tour of the Empire State Building. The students performed a wide variety of show-stopping repertoire from classical to Broadway on the 85th floor. Organizers said RPHS drew the largest audience they had ever seen!.xx
