STUDENTS' ART WORK AND PROJECTS |

Dear Parents, On behalf of the State District Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Donnie Evans, and the staff and community of Public School Number 25, welcome to a new school year. Clearly, the beginning of the school year initiates change, transition, and newness. We see this in the faces of our students, and we feel it in the air—they are excited about their new grade levels, new teachers, new classmates, and new learning opportunities. Notably, it is the joint responsibility of administrators, staff, and parents to maintain and continue to stimulate students’ sense of excitement and anticipation for education throughout the school year. To that end, the staff members of INNOVATION ZONE Public School Number 25 are deeply committed to the essential work required each and every day to promote exceptional learning. We understand the need to provide young people with the opportunities they need to build a successful future, thus preparing them to make important contributions to the community in the years ahead. As parents, you have one of the toughest jobs in America, and we are proud to be associated with you as you meet the unprecedented challenges of assisting us in educating your child in the 21st century. Whether this is your first year at INNOVATION ZONE Public School Number 25 or your seventh, we hope your participation in our school will help you become an even better education partner. We are indeed pleased to partner with you in this exciting environment. In fact, there is no one in a better position to bring about change in our schools than you—the parents of our students. You’ll notice a continued focus of creating a positive school culture. With this in mind, having each and every student participate in the School’s Uniform Code is imperative, as doing so serves as a foundation to help students raise their achievement and to have healthy and successful lives. As you go through the next few weeks, we hope that you’ll take full advantage of the vast resources we will offer this year, whether this centers on learning more about the School Number 25 INNOVATION ZONE/Effective School Model, formal presentations, informal conversations and networking, or other events. Also, please take some time to relax and celebrate your accomplishments as parents at one of our Home School Council meetings. Public School Number 25 is committed to providing the best education possible for each of our students. We believe that every child can and will learn at his or her full potential, thus our motto “LEARNING FOR ALL—WHATEVER IT TAKES.” We understand that strong schools lead to strong communities, and we look forward to a successful year. It is imperative that each student has a completed lunch application on file regardless of your desire to participate in the school lunch program. If you do not wish to participate in the program, simply indicate your desires on the form and sign the application. Please return the completed application with your child on the first day of school. Again, welcome back to what we believe will be an exciting and successful school year. And please remember, ALL STUDENTS SHOULD ARRIVE TO SCHOOL WEARING THEIR SCHOOL UNIFORMS! Dr. Sandra D. Mickens, |
