Dog Days of Summer

Dog Days of Summer is a public art project featuring over 100 dog statues painted by professional artists and local students. This public art installation showcases artists' custom designs on life sized fiberglass dog sculptures displayed along Boonton's Main Street. Students from PS 19 were also sponsored by the public to create smaller dog sculptures, under the guidance of Art Teacher, Mr. Jach, that will adorn the windows of Boonton businesses. The 2018 Boonton Arts' Dog Days of Summer exhibition is open all summer. The event coincides with Boonton's First Fridays, featuring opening receptions at Boonton's six art galleries, live music performances along the street and dining at Boonton's eclectic restaurants. The dogs will be on display from until September 27th.  For the duration of the summer, the dogs are available at an online store for a donation benefiting Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter (, the Montville Animal Shelter New Jersey ( through the Montville Pet Parents ( organization, local schools, and future art programs in our community. Any dogs not purchased  during the summer will be auctioned at the closing party and art auction in October. For more information visit
