Workshop offers fathers a chance to learn, adapt

PATERSON - This is not your father's take on fatherhood.
That was the underlying message at the "Fathers Make a Difference" conference on Saturday at Martin Luther King public school on East 28th Street. Nearly 30 men discussed what it means to be a father in today's demanding society and how they could take a more active role in their children's education.
"You are all educators," said Lenworth Gunther, a teacher, professor, lecturer and keynote speaker. "Being in the house or being around the house is not enough. We must be happily engaged."
